What Causes Man to Sin?

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise,[b] she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. (Genesis 3:6-7)

~ We are raised to the belief that Adam and Eve's sin is DISOBEDIENCE. But have we ever wondered what kind of disobedience they had committed?

Genesis 3:6-7 gives us a clear view that Adam and Eve committed not just mere disobedience, but the kind of disobedience they had committed is to ENTERTAIN ACTIVITIES THAT GAVE THEN AN IDEA HOW TO COMMIT SINFUL ACTS."

Genesis 1:26 speaks about how God created us in HIS OWN IMAGE, and Genesis 2:7 says when God breathed into our nostrils the BREATHE OF LIFE, WE BECAME A LIVING SOUL. That spirit of God that keeps us alive preserves our pure and innocent nature that is ignorant of the idea of sin and what sin is. Eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil, however, introduces as an idea - a different kind of idea of what sin is or how to commit sin, that is why after they ate the forbidden fruit, they realized that they are naked and they shied away from each other (Adam and Eve) because they became aware of the idea of lust and sexual immorality.

Now, have we also entertain activities and people that leads us to sin? Do we watch or read pornographic materials? Do we associate ourselves to friends or acquaintance who's subject of conversation is always about immoral acts? Engaging ourselves even on conversation means we are already sinning by simply entertaining an idea in our mind.

James 1:3-14 3 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
